Don't be misguided by its name. My last pet, Mr Fish, was not a fish. Many moons ago, we brought Mr Fish to the vet and when his name was called, the vet's assistant blurted, "Oh! He's not a fish!" Yes, doh. Mr Fish was our cat. A male siamese sealpoint mix. A stray which I had brought home when he was a mere tot, all of 2 months old.

This time, we were keeping it simple. maomao. How much more misunderstanding can arise from the obvious name? Unless you choose to interpret maomao as being hairy, of course. maomao is the latest addition to our new home. Our baby. Our cat. He's a stray which has been neutered and loitering below our block for awhile now. We were taken by his gentleness and affection, something that Mr Fish was lacking sorely. But we shouldn't compare now, should we? Notice maomao's name is not capitalised. He's just not like that. He is just the cutest thing. A gentle, mild tempered stray whose breed is simply recorded as "domestic shorthair".
As my sister sums it nicely, "A dog trapped in a cat's body". =)
